2028: Year of the Earth Monkey (戊申)
From 立春 on February 4, 2028, 16:31 Seoul time (07:31 UTC), the year is 戊申. After two fire years the blaze settles, and a great mountain and solid metal turn that heat into results that last. This time Lunar New Year comes first — January 26 in China, January 27 in Korea — so for more than a week the calendar already says Monkey while saju still says Goat.

- 申 Monkey · Metal
戊 is a towering mountain; 申 is the early-autumn monkey and the metal hidden in the rock. Earth above gives birth to metal below (土生金), so the heat of 2026 and 2027 sets into results you can hold. Its Nayin (納音) is 大驛土, the earth of the great post road, so movement, travel and new connections run strong too.
Metal is the energy of sorting and finishing: decluttering, editing, minimal routines and the one detail that makes the difference all attract luck. Like a quick, clever monkey, put what you learn to use right away.
Metal turns cold and sharp easily, though. Perfectionism, sharp words and a dried-out heart are its shadows, so soften the edges with moisture, rest and warm conversations. Take big decisions slowly — and for anything medical, ask your doctor, not your chart.
How 2028 feels for your element
Find your day-master element
甲 Pine · 乙 Flower
For 甲 and 乙, 2028 turns opportunity into responsibility. 戊 is your wealth (偏財 for 甲, 正財 for 乙) and 申 is the Officer star that tempers you (七殺 for 甲, 正官 for 乙) — the classic 財生官 flow: work and income grow together, and so do expectations. 乙 forms 乙庚合 with the 庚 inside 申, so good offers and connections reach out first; 甲 leans on the 壬 water hidden in 申 (its Resource) and proves its skill under pressure. Pencil in rest before anything else.
丙 Sun · 丁 Candle
For 丙 and 丁, ideas turn into income. 戊 is your output (食神 for 丙, 傷官 for 丁) and 申 is your wealth (偏財 for 丙, 正財 for 丁), opening the 食傷生財 flow. For 丙, 申 is also the Academic Star (文昌貴人), so study, writing and planning sparkle; for 丁, craft and a way with words pay off. But your fire keeps flowing out into earth and metal, so energy comes first — guard your spark with sleep and a warm routine.
戊 Mountain · 己 Garden
For 戊 and 己, your own element rules the sky. 戊 is on your side (比肩 for 戊, 劫財 for 己) and 申 is the outlet for your talent (食神 for 戊, 傷官 for 己), so making and showing things flows easily. For 戊, 申 is also the Academic Star (文昌貴人) — learning and writing shine. 己: just watch money spent with friends and the occasional sharp remark.
壬 Ocean · 癸 Rain
For 壬 and 癸, it’s a set-up the classics love. 戊 is the Officer star that steadies you (七殺 for 壬, 正官 for 癸) and 申 is the Resource that refills you (偏印 for 壬, 正印 for 癸): 殺印相生 for 壬, 官印相生 for 癸. 申 is where water is born (壬’s 長生), so fresh starts have real power behind them, and 癸 forms 戊癸合 — recognition, offers and connections come your way.
